Hiking in the Semmering-Rax region

Hiking between past and present to quiet vantage points

The Semmering-Rax region has been a place of longing for hikers, thinkers and nature lovers for more than a century. Even Viktor Frankl and Sigmund Freud found inspiration here through alpine landscapes and surprisingly expansive views.

Whether hut hopping on the Rax, where there are numerous cosy huts to stop off at on the ascent and along the plateau, or hiking along the railway hiking trail on the UNESCO World Heritage Semmering Railway - the paths not only invite you to walk, but also to pause, observe and marvel. In the Paradise of Scenic Views, every vantage point opens up new perspectives of valleys, forests and the surrounding peaks.
