Accessibility Statement

The Semmering-Rax-Schneeberg Tourist Board endeavours to make its websites accessible.

This declaration on accessibility applies to www.wieneralpen.at/semmering-rax.

1. status of compatibility with the requirements

These websites are partially compliant with conformance level AA of the "Web Content Accessibility Guidelines - WCAG 2.2" or with the applicable European Standard EN 301 549 V3.2.1 (2021-03) according to Directive (EU) 2019/882 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 17 April 2019 on accessibility requirements for products and services due to the following incompatibilities / exceptions.

2. non / partially accessible content

a. The content listed below is not accessible for the following reasons

  • Incompatibility with accessibility regulations / Disproportionate burden
  • PDF and Word documents (especially older documents) used on the websites are not accessible. If you require content from one of our PDF or Word documents, please contact us. We will endeavour to provide you with the information in a different format.
  • The videos used on our websites are currently not barrier-free. The adaptation represents a disproportionate burden in terms of accessibility regulations. We endeavour to make new videos accessible as soon as possible.
  • The alternative texts for images are sometimes not optimally selected and we are working on making all images with alternative texts accessible for screen reader users. Editors are being sensitised and trained accordingly.
  • We endeavour to write our texts largely without abbreviations and foreign words. We also avoid cumbersome sentence constructions. If you find a text difficult to understand and therefore only partially accessible, please contact us. We will endeavour to provide you with a version that is easy to understand.
  • Lists such as accommodation lists, event lists, catering lists, POI lists (Excursion destinations), offer lists and place and region lists are based on structured data from our tourism database and are currently only partially accessible.
  • The layout of the websites has been adapted to the display interfaces of the respective end devices. By setting the "viewport" tag to "maximum-scale=1", a zoom function is prevented. Fixing this would have a serious impact on the display of the layout.
  • On several pages there are 'iframe' elements without labelling.
  • On some pages there are links without link text.
  • The visual display of text and images containing text does not always have the required minimum contrast ratio . (apart from the exceptions provided for in the regulations, e.g. for logos)

The listed incompatibilities with the accessibility regulations are being corrected on an ongoing basis.

b. The content does not fall within the scope of the applicable legislation

  • Recorded time-based media, such as video and audio media, published before 28 June 2025
  • Interactive maps are currently not accessible. However, you will find the information from the map accessible on our website.
  • Third-party content: Our websites are partly based on the content of a decentralised tourism database. Our content partners are required to provide texts and media in an accessible form. However, no statement can be made regarding the compatibility of this third-party content with accessibility regulations.

3. creation of the declaration on accessibility

This declaration was prepared on 10 June 2025.

The declaration was prepared on the basis of an assessment of the compatibility of the websites with the BaFG carried out by the Semmering-Rax-Schneeberg Tourism Association in the form of a self-test in accordance with WCAG 2.2.
