Closure of the railway hiking trail between Semmering station and Wolfsbergkogel

The section of the railway hiking trail between Semmering station and Wolfsbergkogel station is closed. You can choose the alternative route along Südbahnstraße and then along Adlitzgrabenstraße. The tour routes have been updated accordingly.

Closure of Preiner Gscheid Siebenbrunnerwiese

The old ski slope from Preiner Gscheid towards Siebenbrunnenwiese is closed due to renaturation, which is why the forest road must be used for the ascent to the Rax. The aim is to convert the forest into a climate-friendly, near-natural and long-term sustainable forest.

Forest fire hazard

Due to the ongoing drought and heat, the risk of forest fires is currently particularly high. Open fires, barbecues, smoking and throwing away burning or smouldering objects – such as cigarettes or matches – are strictly prohibited in forests and areas close to forests. Glass bottles and pyrotechnics are also not permitted, as they can cause fires. In addition to forests, the regulation also applies to adjacent areas such as meadows and fields. Careful and responsible behaviour is particularly important at this time.
