In the small town of Prigglitz, visitors can experience art outdoors from spring through late fall. On a site spanning approximately 16 hectares, a constantly rotating selection of works by international artists is on display. Impressive sculptures and installations blend harmoniously into the picturesque landscape. In addition to the art in the landscape, the gallery hosts rotating exhibitions in the historic manor house.
Gallery and Organic Farming
Products from the farm’s own agricultural operations—including meat from non-fattened Jura sheep, hides and wool, fruit juices, fine brandies, fruit, nuts, and much more—can be sampled and purchased right on site.
Architecture and History
The stately estate on the sunny southern slope above Gloggnitz was built between 1920 and 1924 by the Viennese developer and attorney Dr. Max Silberberg. It was designed by architect Hubert Gessner. Gessner is also known for significant residential buildings in Vienna, including the Reumannhof on Margaretengürtel and the Lasallehof on Reichsbrücke. To this day, Gut Gasteil exudes the ambiance of an upper-class summer retreat from the interwar period.
Around Gut Gasteil
Gut Gasteil is easily accessible by both car and public transportation. It is also located directly along popular hiking and biking trails. From here, numerous routes lead up the Gahns to rustic huts such as the Waldburgangerhütte or the Pottschacherhütte. This makes the estate an ideal destination for art-loving day-trippers, leisure hikers, and active cyclists.
