Getting here by train, bus and cable car is so easy

If you want to get to the Rax, you don't need a car. Travelling by public transport is uncomplicated, fast and convenient. It takes around 90 minutes from Vienna directly to the valley station and then 8 minutes from the valley to the plateau.

  • From Vienna or Graz by train to Payerbach-Reichenau railway station
  • From Payerbach-Reichenau railway station to the valley station of the Rax cable car: public bus (341) or individually with theRUFbus Semmering-Rax (stop RE26) daily from 08:30 to 18:00
  • Take the cable car to the high plateau in just 8 minutes
