Start slowly to gently get your circulation going. After about 10 minutes take a short break with stretching exercises. Vary the pace to increase performance gains. Avoid overloading, especially on steep sections, walk if your basic fitness is not sufficient. Include warm-up and cool-down phases. Let the run end gently and don't stretch too intensely afterwards!
Wear appropriate clothing and sturdy shoes. Be sure to bring rain gear and sunscreen. Bring plenty to drink.
Starting point at Schlossplatz; head uphill to the left past the Rudolfsvilla (Sisi’s Castle), turn right, follow the road into the Schneedörfl district, pass the Waldschlössl, and continue straight ahead along the Sonnenpromenade to Payerbach—Werning district. Go downhill to the right, cross the Südbahn tracks, then immediately turn right onto the “Heinzelmännchen-Weg” toward the Payerbach-Reichenau train station.
