In the newly redesigned Theaterpark in front of the Orangery at Wartholz Castle, an exhibition awaits visitors that reflects the diverse world of theater in Reichenau. To mark the 25th anniversary, the two founders of the Reichenau Festival, Renate and Peter Loidolt, commissioned the first life-size artist figurines: renowned actors and actresses from a wide variety of plays who helped write Reichenau’s theater history over the course of a summer. Do you remember the two castle actors, Robert Meyer and Karlheinz Hackl, who first discovered cabaret for themselves in Reichenau in 1988 and became a crowd favorite with Karl Farkas’s “Schau’n Sie sich das an!”? Or were you perhaps even there when Klaus Maria Brandauer brought a touch of Hollywood to the Semmering in 1996 with two legendary readings of Stefan Zweig’s Semmering novella “Brennendes Geheimnis”?
