Located on the Wolfsbergkogel in Semmering, near the railway hiking trail and the Kurhaus, the sculpture park created by self-taught artist Ignaz Semlitsch invites visitors to marvel at its works. The sculptures are made of various metals and acrylic, and some are also available for purchase. If you’re interested, you can contact the current owner, Dr. Doris Lutz. A place of energy with seating and a view of the Rax and Schneeberg mountains offers visitors to the sculpture park the opportunity to rest and linger.
In the final phase of his career, Ignaz Semlitsch sought to give nature free rein. He placed his artworks on tree stumps along a poplar-lined avenue. As these bases rot away, “life” is breathed into the sculptures. They lean in different directions, creating a dialogue between the sculptures and the surrounding nature.
