The spa gardens in Reichenau are a special gem designed by landscape architect Franz Erban and laid out in 1892 . With their idyllic pond and picturesque Lenau Island, they invite visitors to take relaxing strolls.

The pavilion , built in 1903 , makes the park a popular gathering place for Reichenau’s summer society, both then and now. Celebrities such as Arthur Schnitzler, Gustav Mahler, Franz Werfel, and Sigmund Freud used to stroll here, finding inspiration for their works in the beautiful landscape.

Even today, the spa park remains a popular place for relaxation in Reichenau.

Here’s what you can enjoy in the park:

  • A stroll along the Barbarapromenade: A short walking path that passes directly by Reichenau Castle.
  • Visit St. Barbara’s Church: Not far from the park is St. Barbara’s Church, dedicated to St. Barbara, the patron saint of miners.

Tip: Every second Sunday of the month, the Reichenau farmers' market takes place here, where you can discover regional products from local farms.
