Description

At an altitude of 1,250 meters, the Naturfreundehaus Knofeleben awaits its guests with traditional hospitality in modern architecture. The generous panoramic glazing makes it the brightest refuge in Austria and has been awarded the Austrian Ecolabel.

The name "Knofeleben" comes from the wild garlic that grows here in large quantities in spring.

Culinary delights

Visitors can enjoy regional delicacies in the panoramic restaurant before moving on to the next stage. The cuisine consistently focuses on seasonality and regionality: trout and char, lamb, sheep's cheese, fruit, vegetables and eggs all come from the immediate surroundings. The hut has been awarded the "Genusshütte" award for this.
