Description

Nothing works in Therese Ellmauer's inn without chestnuts. The large, brown nut fruits can be found in the name, in the kitchen and in the guest garden. The Kastanienhof in Grafenbach in Neunkirchen knows how to skillfully emphasize its own advantages. The food and drinks vary according to the season. The chestnut is used selectively: In flower spritz, beer, mousse or rice, the fruit is both restrained and dominant. The menu impresses with down-to-earth tavern classics. Herbs and vegetables come from the pub garden. Regional fish and game dishes are in demand. Game and chestnuts belong together. Hospitality and passion too.

An enjoyable smorgasbord

To describe the Kastanienhof as a traditional inn is almost an understatement. The history of the establishment goes back more than 200 years. Therese Ellmauer took over the business in 2015. Grandmother, mother and daughter form a brilliant trio in the inn. The parlor with its inviting bar is memorable. The guest garden with its deep-rooted chestnut trees cannot be beaten. A shady spot is quickly found. The Raxalpe and the Schneeberg, the highest peak in Lower Austria, are in view. From the refreshing cuisine, the dedicated service to the idyllic location - it is the successful mix that offers guests a quality stay.
