Your journey by public transport

Getting there by public transport: Wiener Neustadt lies along the Südroute and has excellent rail links. 

Wiener Neustadt Central Station is just a 6-minute walk from the city centre. This is the first port of call for all tourists in Wiener Neustadt: the Infopoint at Herzog-Leopold-Straße 21 provides you with all the essential information, city maps, discovery maps and tickets for guided tours. The old town is within walking distance, as are all the city’s main attractions.

The bus station is also centrally located with excellent and frequent connections. There are several bus stops throughout the city to ensure you are always close to your destination. Routes 1A/B, 2A/B, 3, 4, 5A/B, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 and 11 take you directly to the city centre.

Central parking facilities

If you’re travelling to Wiener Neustadt by car, you’ll find plenty of good, central parking options in the city centre. For example, you can park your car in the railway station car park, the theatre car park, the car park on Ungargasse or at the Kasematten car park, allowing you to reach your destinations in the city centre quickly and easily on foot.

Shared taxi

What do you do when the last bus has gone? Wiener Neustadt has the answer: “MaXi TAXi”, the city’s shared-ride taxi service in partnership with VOR.

The service covers the entire city area. Pick-up points are existing bus stops, which can be downloaded via the link below.

The “MaXi TAXi” must be booked by telephone at least 30 minutes before the scheduled departure time via the VOR hotline on 0800 222322.

For holders of a season ticket (weekly, monthly, annual ticket, Klimaticket, TOP youth ticket, etc.), use is free of charge. For everyone else, a standard journey costs €1.90.
The “MaXi TAXi” operates when the city buses are no longer running (Mon–Sat | 7 pm – 4 am and
Sun | 8 am – 4 am).
