Agriculture & Farm-Direct Sales - Deeply Rooted in Schwarzenberg

At Schwarzenberg, high-quality foods are produced under the “VERWURZELT” brand, closely tied to the region and nature. The farm places great emphasis on sustainable and nature-oriented farming practices—with great care, respect for the animals, and traditional production methods.

A special focus is placed on pig farming. The Duroc pigs are raised slowly and have plenty of space to root around and move about. This results in particularly flavorful, high-quality meat. Fresh meat is available by special order, as well as a fine selection of smoked meats and sausage specialties. The homemade bacon and the traditional “Moasterbratl” are particularly popular.

When it comes to processing, the ... family relies on time-honored craftsmanship and tried-and-true recipes. True to the motto “Just like in the old days,” they create specialties with authentic flavors and regional character.

In addition to the pigs, the farm is home to various breeds of chickens and rabbits. The cultivation of fruits, vegetables, and herbs is also being continuously expanded. Through a sustainable circular economy, the soil remains vibrant and creates ideal conditions for high-quality food. The farm also processes many of the natural products found around Schwarzenberg—from wild herbs to spruce needles.

Farm-Direct Sales

Farm-direct sales take place every Sunday from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Fresh Duroc pork is available by advance order.
