Maiersdorf is a district of the municipality of Hohe Wand, situated at the foot of the mountain and is a perfect starting point for hikes up the Hohe Wand. The small village offers nice vacation apartments and private guesthouses for overnight stays. The hike to the Hohe Wand first leads through the village center up to the fortified church of Maiersdorf. It then follows the"Straßenbahnerweg" up to the Hohe Wand. In around an hour, the trail leads hikers directly to the Luf family's mountain inn at an altitude of 940 meters. Here, guests can expect home-style cooking with homemade dishes, from soups to pastries. A special recommendation is the crispy fried chicken. After a break on the sun terrace, the Hohe Wand Nature Park invites you to take numerous other hikes and walks on the mountain, for example on the Wildenauer circular hike or the Nature Park circular hike for the whole family.
