Bucklige Welt

Holidays in the land of 1000 hills

Every hill offers a new perspective

The Bucklige Welt lies in the east of the Lower Austrian Alps, close to Burgenland. The Celts left their mark on the region over 3,000 years ago. The history of the fortified churches or that of the Count of Chambord – France’s last heir to the throne, who lived here in exile – does not go back quite that far. Today, with its award-winning restaurants, excellent inns, easy walking trails and varied cycle routes, the Bucklige Welt is not only “the land of 1,000 hills”, but also a land of many ideas for your holiday.
