Description

Hardly any other landscape in Austria boasts as many beautiful vantage points as the Vienna Alps region. What makes these views even more special is when you look at them from a different angle - from the driver's seat of a vintage car, for example! The thermal spa communities in Lower Austria can offer plenty of inspiration in this area for those interested, making a trip into nature a very special experience.

Route description Starting from the spa town of Bad Erlach, you drive via Föhrenau to Schwarzau/Steinfeld. There, turn right onto the B 54, then continue via the L 4110 to St. Egyden into the Schneeberg region. From Grünbach am Schneeberg, the journey leads you on the L 138 into the Biedermeier Valley, crossed by the Piesting river, to Miesenbach, Reichental and Pernitz. Weiterfahrt auf der B 21 nach Gutenstein und über den Rohrer Sattel nach Rohr im Gebirge, where you head towards Schwarzau/Gebirge on the Höllentalstraße B 27 past the Kaiserbrunn Water Supply Museum. The Kaiserbrunn spring is the historic source of Vienna’s water supply, providing high-quality spring water from the Alps. Then continue via Reichenau/Rax to Payerbach. Here, you leave the romantically wild Höllentalstraße and drive on Werningstraße towards Prigglitz and Gasteil. Via Ternitz, Neunkirchen, Breitenau you reach the starting point Bad Erlach again.
