Hiking and wonderful things lie side by side in Bad Schönau, there is much to discover and experience here. On the small Leitenviertel trail, for example, you can take a break from everyday life, forget stress and worries and simply enjoy nature and the tranquil landscape. The circular trail to the east of the village center takes less than an hour and allows you to take your time to enjoy the landscape of the Bucklige Welt. Due to the flat and mostly paved paths, the loop is suitable for hikers of all ages.
Bad Schönau is on the route along the Wiener Alpenbogen - Arc of the Viennese Alps (trail), where the stage to Gschaidt starts via Hutwisch and a stage to Kirchschlag in der Bucklige Welt leads in the other direction.

Make sure when choosing the route that it matches your experience and your fitness. Inform yourself beforehand about the weather forecast. Weather in the mountains can change surprisingly quickly. Always set out accordingly equipped (e.g., rain protection).

The path starts from the village square and goes along Kurhausstraße until the junction turning right onto Hauptstraße. This street is followed up to Hotel Geier, where you then turn left into Maierhöfnerstraße. After about 50 meters, there is another turn to the left into Königsbergstraße. The path then ascends to the Leitenviertler Höhenweg (E 10), where you turn right. Shortly after, Wagenhofer is reached, where you turn right again onto Maierhöfnerstraße. Following this street leads back into the village. At Hauptstraße, turn right to return to the village square.

From Vienna: Take south motorway A2, exit Krumbach. At exit 76-Krumbach, drive towards Krumbach/Hungary and continue via Krumbach junction onto B55. In Bad Schönau, turn right onto Hauptstraße. Turn right onto Kurhausstraße.
From Graz: Take south motorway A2, exit Aspang-Zöbern. Turn right onto L137. Follow the road. Turn right onto Kirchschlager Str./B55. In Bad Schönau, turn right onto Hauptstraße. Turn right onto Kurhausstraße.
