Description

The circular hiking trail leads from the village square in Hochegg, via Himbergerstraße to the vantage point with views over the Vienna Basin, the Pittental valley and the Türkensturz. Following the path to the Hollabrunner Riegel, there are still views of the Rax, Hohe Wand, Schneeberg and Wechsel. From the Hollabrunner Riegel you then return to the starting point.

Route description Marking H1The route starts from the village square into Himberger Street. From there, continue to the viewpoint, then further left towards the forest up to the water reservoir. Pass to the right there and follow the signs to Grubbauern Height. Follow Hollabrunner Street over the Hollabrunner Ridge up to the transformer. Then go left along the larch trees, past the state hospital and back via Hochegger Street to the village square.
Parking At the entrance to Hochegg there is a large parking lot, also opposite the former Gasthof zur Linde.
Getting there Take the Südautobahn A2 at the Grimmenstein exit, then left onto Wechselbundesstraße, past the village of Grimmenstein and turn right towards Hochegg before the intersection towards Aspang.
Public transport To the Edlitz-Grimmenstein train station, then take the bus to HocheggMore information at fahrplan.oebb.at and https://www.vor.at/
