The circular chapel trail leads through the Rotten Eben to the Urbankapelle chapel and back again.

A beautiful, extensive circular hiking trail that leads from the village center to the outlying Rotte Eben and on to the Urbankapelle chapel. From there, the trail leads back to the village center via the viewpoint on the Grubbauern Höhe.

Route description Marking H5The loop starts from the village square in Hochegg heading into Himberger Straße. Through the hamlet Himberg, continue along until you reach the hamlet Eben. There turn left twice until you reach Heißenhofstraße. Continue there, after about 3 km turn left at the fork to the Urbankapelle. At the chapel, turn left towards Hochegg, past the Grubbauern Höhe (viewpoint) and through the hamlet Hollabrunn. Now follow the road to the transformer station, then turn left onto Lärchenweg and along the state hospital and the Hochegger Straße back to the village square.
Parking At the entrance to the village of Hochegg there is a large car park, also opposite the former Gasthof zur Linde.
Getting there Exit the Südautobahn A2 at the Grimmenstein exit, then turn left on the Wechselbundesstraße, pass the town of Grimmenstein and before the crossroads towards Aspang turn right to Hochegg.
