Hike from Stollhof via a hiking trail near the mountain road up to the Hohe Wand to the Kohlröserlhaus.
As a district of the municipality of Hohe Wand,Stollhof is the ideal starting point for various hikes right at the foot of the mountain. Via Festplatzstraße you reach the forest where you can start your tour up the Hohe Wand. Our trail runs along a leisurely route, you can also reach the Hohe Wand from the starting point via the Leiterlsteig (via ferrata A). Our route also crosses the mountain road, which provides easy access by car to the huts and the nature park on the Hohe Wand. The destination of our tour is the Kohlröserlhaus inn. Hard-working hikers are rewarded here with culinary specialties such as lean Meisel with creamed runner beans and parsley potatoes or the famous Kohlröserl cake made according to great-grandmother's recipe. The mountain inn also has an exhibition room with minerals from all over the world and regional finds, such as cave bear teeth or fossilized snails. There are also numerous starting points for beautiful hiking and walking trails in the Hohe Wand Nature Park at the Kohlröserlhaus. You can reach the Skywalk viewing terrace via the Ötscher-Blick-Runde.
Alternative ascents to the Kohlröserlhaus lead from Stollhof via the Hanselsteig (via ferrata A/B) and the Bründlries, or from Waldegg via the Große Klause and from Dreistetten via the Herrgottschnitzerweg and further along the Wandeckstraße.
Your hikes in the Vienna Alps should be a completely enjoyable and safe experience. Please note the following:
