Workshop, forest and water theme trail
Rohr im Gebirge is characterized by its forests and streams. This themed trail leads through the beautiful forests around the village and is repeatedly accompanied by streams. Immersing yourself in the experience of the forest and water of Rohr im Gebirge, enjoying nature and gaining new experiences is the focus of this trail. On extended hikes, you can find peace and relaxation, learn interesting facts about flora and fauna, view the surroundings from the observation tower and watch the last charcoal burners at work. Along the way, family-friendly inns invite you to enjoy organic products from local farmers.
The adventure trails are accessible free of charge from spring to fall.
Preparation
Make sure when choosing the route that it corresponds to your mountain experience and your fitness. Inform yourself in advance about the weather forecast. The weather can change surprisingly quickly in the mountains. Therefore, always start out properly equipped (e.g. rain protection).
Check whether the huts and snack stations you want to visit along the way are open. Inform someone about your route choice and your planned return before you set off.
Wear sturdy shoes suitable for the route, bring sun and rain protection as well as water and a small snack. Take your mobile phone with you and save the mountain rescue emergency number: 140
This themed route leads through the beautiful forests around the village of Rohr im Gebirge and is repeatedly accompanied by streams. Along the way, we are also encouraged to be active ourselves. We find out how strong an ant is and how strong we are. Making music in the forest and with the water, we feel like a bark beetle and look at the area around Rohr from the observation tower.

You can reach Rohr im Gebirge by bus from Payerbach-Reichenau. Payerbach-Reichenau is regularly accessible by the Southern Railway from Vienna and Graz.
