The leisurely circular hike along the Weningersteig leads along the foot of the Schneeberg and through the Nandlgraben.
The Weningersteig circular hike follows beautiful forest trails at the foot of the Schneeberg and offers unique views. From Losenheim, the trail first heads uphill across the meadow alongside the chairlift. Right next to it is the Alpen Bikepark Schneeberg, so you can watch the bikers on their trails as you go. Further up, you’ll reach the chairlift’s summit station, where the Edelweißhütte invites you to stop for a break. If you’d prefer a more leisurely pace, you can also take the Schneeberg chairlift . From the terraces at the top of the Edelweisshütte, you’ll enjoy a view stretching down into the valley toward Puchberg and all the way to Lake Neusiedl. A stop here is definitely worth it, as you’ll be treated to fresh mountain hut dishes.
Well-fortified, you then hike across the Nandlboden, past the Lahning Ries and the Nandlgrat. Following the romantic forest trails, you’ll eventually reach the Ferdinand-Bürkle Mountain Hut, where an annual mountain mass is held. From here, you’ll enjoy a breathtaking view of the Breite Ries. A few meters lower down, the trail then leads back to Losenheim along a mountain hiking trail .
Your hikes in the Vienna Alps should be a completely beautiful and safe experience. Please note the following:
