Description

The entire Wechsel panoramic trail lies at an altitude of over 1,000 meters. This not only guarantees wonderful panoramic views of Schneeberg, Rax, Wechsel and the surrounding regions, but also a high level of snow reliability. Provided there is enough snow for grooming, the trail is groomed from the beginning of December to the end of March and runs through varied terrain and is also divided into smaller circular trail sections. Circular trail number 12 starts at the Alpengasthof Kummerbauerstadl. The approximately 8-kilometer trail is suitable for sporty cross-country skiers. Gasthof Kummerbauerstadl is the ideal starting point for cross-country skiing tours or other sporting activities. It is open all year round with Monday as a day off. In addition to culinary delights with ingredients from the region, the Alpengasthof also offers overnight accommodation and wellness facilities. From here, the panoramic cross-country ski trail leads over the Feistritzsattel to the Wechsel.

Route description From the entry at Kummerbauerstadl, the trail first leads us curving uphill. After about two kilometers, the track splits and we decide in which direction we want to run the loop. The route marked on the map first goes to the left. We reach the turning point at about 4 kilometers. We turn right back and return to the starting point.
Parking Sufficient parking is available at the Gasthof Kummerbauerstadl.
Getting there Coming from Vienna or Graz via the A2 to the Seebenstein junction - S6 to the Gloggnitz exit to Otterthal - Trattenbach, turn right in Anger towards Hinterotter. Or the A2 to the Aspang exit - Feistritz am Wechsel - Kirchberg am Wechsel - Otterthal - Trattenbach
Public transport The Gasthaus Kummerbauerstadl is notaccessible by public transport. The nearest village Trattenbach can be reached from Gloggnitz by regional bus 1734 (direction Kirchschlag/Wechsel Hotel Post) to the Otterthal GH Rottensteiner stop and transfer to regional bus 1736 (direction Trattenbach village center).
