Hiking tour Starting from Mönichkirchen Adventure Lodge
The starting point of the hike is the parking lot in Mönichkirchen, at the valley station of the 4-seater chairlift. Take the lift up to the "Mönichkirchner Schwaig", hike along the forest path via the "Studentenkreuz" to the Hallerhaus and on to the Stoa Alm.
After a leisurely rest, the route takes you back down the ski slope to the "Mönichkirchner Schwaig", where you can enjoy the magnificent view deep into Burgenland and to Wiener Neustadt on the descent. From the summit station of the 4-seater chairlift, you can get back to the starting point of the hike quickly by scooter or mountain cart or comfortably by chairlift.

Preparation
When choosing a route, make sure it matches your experience and fitness level. Check the weather forecast in advance. The weather in the mountains can change surprisingly quickly. Therefore, always set out with the appropriate gear (e.g., rain gear).
Check to see if the huts and snack bars you plan to visit along the way are open. Let someone know your route and your planned return time before you set out.
Always bring appropriate maps with you. Wear sturdy shoes suitable for the hike, and bring sunscreen, rain gear, water, and a light snack. Bring your cell phone and save the mountain rescue emergency number: 140
Park at the lower station of the Erlebnisalm Mönichkirchen.
By car from Vienna, take the A2; at the Edlitz exit, merge onto Wechsel Str./B54 toward Aspang and follow the B54 all the way to Mönichkirchen.
Drive from Graz on the A2; at the Graz-Ost interchange, take the left exit onto the A2/E66 toward Vienna/Gleisdorf/Laßnitzhöhe/Hungary and continue on the A2. At exit 95-Pinggau, head toward Friedberg/B63; In Haideggendorf, take the third exit at the roundabout onto the B63, turn right onto the B54, and follow the road to Mönichkirchen.
Take the train from Vienna or Graz via Wiener Neustadt to Aspang Markt. Continue by bus to Mönichkirchen to the "Hotel Thier" stop.
Then walk to the base station of the Erlebnisalm Mönichkirchen.
