A pleasant hike through an atmospheric cultural landscape, starting from the summer resort towns of Reichenau or Payerbach to the former toll and supply place of the Semmering, Schottwien. The route is very varied and follows natural field and forest paths and atmospheric hiking trails, as well as short asphalt sections through historic town centers. The highlights at the beginning of the route are the historic town centers and the cradle of aristocratic summer resorts in the Eastern Alps. From Schottwien begins the challenging ascent to Sonnwendstein, from where one of the most impressive views in the Vienna Alps awaits.
