At the cave entrance, four informational signs provide visitors with basic information about the world of stalactite caves. As you make your way through the cave, you’ll discover all its beauty and unique features:

the fascinating, hundred-thousand-year-long formation of the cave and its stalactites and stalagmites, which are unique and irreplaceable
the unique meteorological conditions and the cave habitat with its animals and plants—a vulnerable ecosystem that must be protected
the lives of the cave’s inhabitants—bats—which are so important to nature and whose survival depends on our protection
the history of the discovery and exploration of Hermannshöhle, whose delicate world we should approach with care and great respect, despite all our enthusiasm and thirst for adventure

Route description
Starting from the parking lot, the ascending access path sets the stage for your exploration of the cave system and provides you with basic information about the cave, which will then allow you to see its unique features in a new light.
The approximately 350-meter-long path through the cave is easy to navigate, featuring well-maintained steps and trails with electric lighting, and climbs 43 meters in elevation from the “Windloch” up to the “Taubenloch.”

Hermannshöhle Opening Hours:

Daily from May 1 through September 30 and during Holy Week. In April and October: Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays, as well as by appointment

Main tour times: 9:30 a.m., 11:00 a.m., 1:30 p.m., 3:00 p.m., and 4:30 p.m. (minimum fee: €15) Additional tours available upon request
