Description

A special kind of swinging experience is offered by the newly created swing trail on the Mönichkirchner Schwaig - besides the roller and mountain cart run, the new highlight of Erlebnisalm Mönichkirchen.

Over a length of about 2.7 km (walking time about 2 - 2.5 hours), and conveniently accessible by the 4-seater chairlift, both children and adults can try out various swings, seesaws, and relaxation elements at a total of 17 stations and have fun in nature. You are accompanied by our mascot Lella, the little cow. The highlight of the swing trail is the alpine swing - a viewing platform with various relaxation elements and stunning views over the Mönichkirchner Schwaig. Back at the starting point of the swing trail, the Mönichkirchner Schwaig, the descent by roller or mountain cart offers the crowning finale of a successful day trip.

Since summer 2017, there are some new additions on the alp! A huge Lella swing, a balancing course, an alpine slide, and an alpine climbing tower are waiting to be explored.

Whether tired from hiking along the swing trail, or climbing the new alpine climbing tower - you can relax swinging in the huge Lella swing, enjoying the wonderful scent of the forest and meadows and the fresh air of the Mönichkirchner Schwaig. Relaxed and refreshed, you go from the highest point of the swing trail - the alpine swing - to the new balancing course, where you can test your sense of balance on slacklines. The last of the four new attractions - the alpine slide - takes you quickly to the next station. Anyone who hasn't discovered the new highlights yet should do so soon!

Route description We start at the mountain inn Mönichkirchner Schwaig and pass the Alpenhotel Enzian. At the next opportunity, we turn left onto a hiking trail. We follow the path to a T-junction, where we turn sharply left. We follow the route as it meets another path, where we take a right turn. At the next junction, we turn sharply left again and follow the path. At the Mönichkirchen-Mariensee lifts, we turn left uphill and hike along the lifts to the mountain station.

Getting there By car from Vienna, take the A2, exit at Edlitz and merge onto Wechsel Str./B54 towards Aspang, then follow B54 road until you reach Mönichkirchen.By car from Graz, take the A2, exit at Knoten Graz-Ost and turn left onto A2/E66 towards Vienna/Gleisdorf/Laßnitzhöhe/Hungary, continuing on the A2.At exit 95-Pinggau, head towards Friedberg/B63, Haideggendorf, take the third exit at the roundabout onto B63, then turn right onto B54, and follow the road to Mönichkirchen.Park at the valley station of Erlebnisalm Mönichkirchen and take the chairlift to Mönichkirchner Schwaig, the starting point of the swing trail.
Public transport Take the train from Vienna or Graz via Wr. Neustadt to Aspang Markt. Then continue by bus to Mönichkirchen to the "Hotel Thier" stop.Continue on foot to the valley station of Erlebnisalm Mönichkirchen and take the chairlift to Mönichkirchner Schwaig, the starting point of the swing trail.More timetable information:fahrplan.oebb.at and VOR AnachB route planner
