The pass summit is the starting point for this hike through the village of Semmering. First along the high road past the municipal office, the Hotel Belvedere, the Restaurant Löffler to the Hotel Panhans. All these houses date back to the turn of the century and are Semmering's contemporary witnesses. The Hochstraße leads past the parish church, the imposing vicarage and the viewing terraces around the Semmeringkogel. At the historic Kleinhans Villa, a short stretch along the F. Schüler Weg. Turn left along a forest path to Hans Dujsik Straße. Out of the valley to Adlitzgrabenstraße, along the tree-lined avenue to the F. Schüler Straße junction, past the historic villas onto the Hochstraße and to the starting point at the top of the pass.

Make sure the selected route matches your mountain experience and fitness. Check the weather forecast beforehand. Weather in the mountains can change rapidly. Therefore, always set off appropriately equipped (suitable footwear, rain protection). Check whether the huts and snack stations you want to visit are open. Inform someone about your chosen route and planned return before you set off. Stay on marked trails and avoid shortcuts. Due to dryness, meadows and forests are highly flammable. Treat fire with respect and report any possible fires to the fire department immediately. (122) Do not litter and dispose of waste properly.
Note, this winter hiking trail may not be fully cleared in snowy conditions and can have slippery spots. Use is at your own risk! Also keep in mind that in winter trail markings may be obscured by snow, so prepare well for your hike! Pay attention to early dusk and plan your trip carefully.

From the pass summit, we walk along Hochstraße to Panoramahotel Wagner and further to the imposing Semmering Villa at the sharp bend. Here we continue straight for a short distance along Friedrich Schülerstraße until the forest path Meierei-Golfplatz branches off. We follow this to the intersection with the forest road. Now downhill to Adlitzgrabenstraße. After a short stretch, Friedrich Schülerstraße branches off again, leading us back to Hochstraße and further back to the starting point.

From Vienna take the A2 South Motorway onto the S6 Semmering expressway and take the Maria Schutz exit. Turn right onto L4168. Continue on Semmering/L4168, Semmeringstraße and Passstraße to B306.
From Graz take the S6 Semmering expressway and take the Spital/Semmering exit. Turn left onto Semmering Ersatz Str./B306. Continue on B306.
Travel by train to Semmering station.
