The Pitten circular hiking trail stretches over a good 10 km and can be completed in around 3 and a half hours. This trail leads through the Pitten area along beautiful forest hiking trails up to the Weißjackl summit at 576 m. From here you have a magnificent view of the Schneeber and Rax mountains. The circular hiking trail has several other viewpoints to offer, such as the view of the Hinterbrühl brickworks and lime kilns. If you get hungry and thirsty in between, you can stop off at Gasthof-Pension Manhalter or Restaurant-Vinothek Unger. In the village of Pitten there is also the opportunity to refresh yourself in the castle pool. With an average level of fitness, the Pitten circular trail is an easy experience!

Preparation
Make sure when choosing your route that it matches your experience and physical fitness. Check the weather report beforehand. Weather in the mountains can change suddenly and unexpectedly. Therefore, always start well equipped (e.g. rain protection).
Check if the huts and snack stations you want to visit along the way are open. Inform someone about your chosen route and planned return before you set out.

Always take suitable maps with you. Wear sturdy shoes appropriate for the route, bring sun and rain protection as well as water and a small snack. Take your mobile phone with you and save the mountain rescue emergency number: 140
This route description refers to starting towards the north. Since it is a circular hiking route, you can also start in the opposite direction.
Follow the path "Auf der Schmelz" into Georgistollengasse and then turn left onto Wr. Neustädter Straße. Walk along this street until you turn right onto Heuweg. This paved street leads to a hiking trail. Continue on this trail to a T-junction, where you turn sharply left. Now keep right until you reach Leiding. At the fork after the chapel, keep left and then turn right onto the next hiking trail. Follow the uphill path to a fork where you keep right. The highest point of the route is now reached. Descend via partly paved streets back into the village, where you turn right from Leidinger Straße onto Aspanger Straße. Follow this street and turn left into Pfarrwiesenweg. If you continue straight on the streets, the path leads back to the starting point.
Free parking spaces directly behind the municipal office at the marketplace.
