Description

The Hochwexltrail "The WU" is the flagship trail in the Wexl Trails network. The route leads over hill and dale and flowing bends with numerous creative features towards Marienseer Schwaig.

Route description The starting point is marked by the large W on wood and immediately leads downhill in flowing curves. Numerous features guide you over stones and flowing curves across the alpine pasture. As soon as you enter the forest again, it continues downhill over rooty sections, small to medium jumps, and numerous curves. Afterwards, you leave the forest and arrive at a wide alpine pasture that must be mastered with large curves.You then proceed along a stone-marked path towards the forest road before reaching the Marienseer Schwaig again at the end via a small technical section.The entire route covers 2.7 km and 265 m of descent and finally merges back into the Panorama Trails #13 towards Styersberger Schwaig or #14 to Mönichkirchen.
Parking A large parking lot is available free of charge.
Getting there From Vienna:Take exit 69 Edlitz/Aspang on the Südautobahn/E59 and drive on B54 towards Aspang, then follow B54 to St. Corona am Wechsel. In the district of Unternberg, cross the steel bridge and turn right into the parking lot.From Graz:Take exit 81-Aspang/Zöbern on the Südautobahn/E59 and turn left onto L137, following the road to stay on Neustift am Hartberg. In Aspang at the main square, turn left and at the next intersection turn right towards St. Corona am Wechsel. Under the bridge, turn left and continue straight to St. Corona am Wechsel. In the district of Unternberg, cross the steel bridge and turn right into the parking lot.
