The Hochwechseltrail North connects the arriving routes 10, 11 & 21 with the Hochwechsel. The route covers 3.4 km and 180 m of elevation over a partly rocky gravel path up to the summit, from where you can start directly on the Hochwexl Trail "The Wu" or take a short break at the Wetterkoglerhaus.
Please show consideration for other trail users and pay a little extra attention to children. At trail crossings, please watch out for hikers.
From the fork of routes 10, 11 and 21, start via an upgraded forest road towards Umschussriegel. After about 400 m with a slight incline you reach the fork with route 13, which you take to the right uphill in the direction of travel to continue to the Hochwechsel. The rocky forest road then leads with splendid views up to Umschussriegel. Once you reach the ridge, keep to the left and cover the last meters. From the last fork you are on a rocky path that takes you up to the Wetterkoglerhaus at 1723 m, where you can enjoy excellent food and which is also the starting point of the Hochwexl Trail "The WU."
