Description

This hike includes the ascent to two huts: Wetterkoglerhaus and Marienseer Schwaig

There is plenty to see and beautiful views on the numerous Schwaigen on the Wechsel. However, the Wetterkoglerhaus offers the most impressive view, as at 1743m it is located at the highest point of the Wechsel, the Hochwechsel. The unique panoramic view stretches across Semmering and Rax to Schneeberg - and even beyond the borders to Slovenia and Hungary. This view can be reached in a very short time from Mariensee. The hiking trail, which is suitable for the whole family, leads past the Marienseer Schwaig directly to the summit. The Marienseer Schwaig offers homemade food and produce from its own garden. The mountain hut can also be reached via the Wild Water theme trail. After the ascent to the Wetterkoglerhaus, you will also be spoiled with culinary delights, such as a delicious minced meat roast. The Wetterkoglerhaus is also easy to reach from the Mönichkirchen chairlift summit station, which is located directly on the trail along the Wiener Alpenbogen - Arc of the Viennese Alps (trail). From here, you can continue hiking to the Arabichl and Feistritzsattel.
