From the town center past the parsonage of the late Gothic fortified church in Edlitz, the ascending Riegerweg runs along the Kreuzleitenbach and then continues on the Kaderweg. At the forest junction, take the left path to Paradieswiese and continue to the Panoramastraße intersection. From here, it is possible to make a detour to Maria Schnee (walking time from this junction to Maria Schnee about 1 hour) or continue left on the circular hiking trail past the Wachahof towards the starting point in Edlitz town center.
After a pleasant hike in the town, you can rest and refresh at the guesthouse "Grüner Baum". A visit to the beautiful late Gothic fortified church in Edlitz and the interesting introductory documentation of the fortified churches route is also worthwhile. The fortified churches route "Bucklige Welt" starts in Edlitz and passes impressive fortified churches in Krumbach, Hochneukirchen, Bad Schönau, Kirchschlag, Lichtenegg, Hollenthon, Wiesmath, Hochwolkersdorf, Bromberg, Lanzenkirchen, and Katzelsdorf.

Make sure that the chosen route matches your experience and fitness. Check the weather forecast in advance. The weather in the mountains can change suddenly and rapidly. Always start well equipped accordingly (e.g., rain protection).

Always take suitable maps with you. Wear sturdy shoes adapted to the route, bring sun and rain protection, as well as water and a snack. Take your mobile phone with you and save the mountain rescue emergency number: 140
The path is marked in red and is called K5. The starting point is in the center of Edlitz. From there it goes along the Kaderweg next to the Kreuzleitenbach. After about 700 meters, turn right onto the gravel path. Follow this curvy route uphill to Pangart. Upon reaching the asphalt road, turn left towards the Gasthaus Handler until the Panoramastraße intersection.
Detour to Maria Schnee:
Continue right for about 300 meters to the intersection, then turn left to Dermahof and right again following the marking until you reach the asphalt road, turn left about 400m to the next intersection and then right about 500m towards Maria Schnee.
Continue the circular hiking trail:
Turn left past the Wachahof towards Edlitz back to the starting point in the town center.

From Vienna: Take the Südautobahn A2, exit at Edlitz. Drive towards Edlitz. Turn left onto Kirchschlager Str./B55. Continue on B55 to Edlitz. Turn left onto Markt.
From Graz: Take the Südautobahn A2, exit at Grimmenstein. Drive towards Grimmenstein. Keep right at the fork and continue on Wechsel Str./B54. After Edlitz-Grimmenstein station, turn left onto Kirchschlager Str./B55. Continue on B55 to Edlitz and turn left onto Markt.
