Hiking tour Starting from Parsonage Bromberg
An enjoyable hiking trail along the Schlattenbach stream near Bromberg. Seven information boards provide general information about the persecution of witches in text and pictures, but especially about the fate of Afra Schickh. Attractive, nature-oriented exercise stations have been set up at various places along the trail.
An enjoyable hiking trail along the Schlattenbach stream near Bromberg. Seven information boards provide general information about the persecution of witches in text and pictures, but especially about the fate of Afra Schickh. Attractive, nature-oriented exercise stations have been set up at various places along the trail.
The 3 km long trail starts in Bromberg an der Au and runs along the Schlattenbach stream. In 2019, the Witches' Trail was expanded into the Hexen Hör-Erlebnis-Bewegungs-Weg (Witchy Listening and Moving Experience Trail). The addition of a children's audio guide via a free smartphone app and motor skills stations has created an informative leisure activity for the whole family. The exercise stations are primarily "motor skills equipment" that challenge and promote dexterity and mobility.
Your hikes in the Vienna Alps should be a thoroughly pleasant and safe experience. Please therefore note the following:
Preparation
Make sure when choosing the route that it matches your mountain experience and your fitness. Inform yourself in advance about the weather forecast. The weather in the mountains can change surprisingly fast. Therefore, always set out properly equipped (e.g., rain protection).
Always take appropriate maps with you. Wear sturdy shoes suited to the route, bring sun and rain protection as well as water and a small snack.
The path starts near the community square in Bromberg. Along the stream, the hiking trail goes through the Schlattental. The path ends in the middle of the Schlattental.
The path is also suitable for an all-terrain stroller.
Parking options at the beginning of the path or in front of the community office.
You can reach Bromberg from the north via the A2 and A3.
From the south, take the A2 and S6.
On weekdays, there is a bus connection from Wr. Neustadt station and Scheiblingkirchen station.
