Description

One of the many beautiful hiking trails in and around Grimmenstein is the water trail. It leads hiking enthusiasts along the Pitten through a varied environment. The starting point is the town hall square in Grimmenstein, which is the center of social activity depending on the time of year. From there, the trail stretches north through huts to Petersbaumgarten. There, refreshments await walkers at Gasthaus Pichler. In the barrier-free version, you can either take the train from the Petersbaumgarten stop back to Grimmenstein or continue along the path.

This route is suitable for baby carriages, wheelchairs, etc. It runs mainly on a road with little traffic and along EuroVelo 9.

Route description The starting point of the route is the town hall square. From there, the path leads via Schulgasse and Obere Auweg. Following the signs towards Petersbaumgarten, it goes left along the Pitten on the Thermenradweg. In Petersbaumgarten, there is a right turn, passing the highway maintenance depot. Shortly afterwards, the Gasthaus Pichler is reached, where you can stop for a break (please check opening hours in advance). The same way is taken back to Grimmenstein.
