From the center of Krumbach, we follow Marktstraße (the Zentralalpenweg also crosses through the town here) to Federal Highway B55. We cross the highway and walk past the outdoor pool toward Unterhaus. Passing the museum village, we walk through Unterhaus to the intersection with the L137 country road; we follow it to the right for a few meters, then keep left at the next fork. This path leads up to Krumbach Castle; a trail through the forest is the more scenic option. Once at the top, we follow the paved road for a short distance to the first hairpin turn, where we head straight into the forest. Soon we rejoin the paved road near Feichten, follow it uphill to the right at a hairpin turn, and leave it at an old cottage. Now we hike past the Waldbauernriegel, winding our way through meadows and fields. At Hochhalt, we can enjoy a magnificent view of the surrounding area and, a short time later, reach the main Alpannonia trail.
Various parking options, e.g., the large parking lot on Schulgasse (Marktstraße/Abrahamsplatz/Schulgasse—parallel to the B55)
Via the A2 (Southern Autobahn), take the Krumbach exit, then the B55
Take the train to Aspang-Markt, then the bus to Krumbach.
