The trail leads via a crossroads to Oberkohlstätten, where you can learn about the historic technique of burning coal at a show charcoal kiln. Forest paths then take you over the small and large Hirschenstein to the top of the pass on the main road.
Shuttle service to Lockenhaus(Burghotel Lockenhaus) or Rechnitz(Taxiteam Rechnitz).
Attention poor cell phone reception: organize a cab at the Hirschenstein transmitter - approx. 45 minutes to the stage finish
