Description

The PuchBergAdvent will take place in Puchberg am Schneeberg from December 6 to 8, 2025 - information at www.puchberg.at/veranstaltungen. The start and end of the circular hiking trail is at the Hengsthütte. You can reach the Hengsthütte with the Schneebergbahn, which operates daily at this time. You can find the exact travel times at www.schneebergbahn.at.

The circular hike starts between the Hengsthütte and the Schneebergbahn stop along the old "Hengstweg" following the red and then the blue markings in the direction of the Ternitzerhütte. Once you reach the Ternitzerhütte, the hiking trail leads directly opposite through a small wood to the Kaltwassersattel, then left again to the Baumgartner stop. Depending on the snow conditions, the walk takes at least 1 hour and 30 minutes. We also recommend snowshoes, which you can hire at the Schneebergbahn valley station if the snow conditions require it. The Advent circular hiking trail is not a cleared winter hiking trail.

At the Baumgartner stop, head back in the same direction as you came. At the Kaltwassersattel, the path then leads straight ahead and along the green "Oberer" Hengstweg markings back to the Hengsthütte. The walking time is - again depending on the snow conditions - approx. 1 hour.
