Ebenfurth

Description

The family-friendly municipality of Ebenfurth is located in the district of Wiener Neustadt-Land - an der Leitha in the Vienna Basin. In addition to the town of Ebenfurth, the municipality also includes the villages of Großmittel and Haschendorf. Until 1920, Ebenfurth was considered a border town between Austria and Hungary due to its location on the Leitha.

From 1997 to 2009, the municipality underwent extensive redevelopment and revitalization. Today, Ebenfurth boasts a modern train station, renovated buildings from the town hall to the school, spacious children's playgrounds and a newly built industrial area.

In addition to Ebenfurth Castle - a former moated castle in private ownership - Ebenfurth's listed buildings include the historic Wiener Neustädter Canal and the Ebenfurth St. Ulrich parish church.
