Open from May 1 to October 26: Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays

The summit hut on the Dürren Wand is the ideal hiking destination in the Gutenstein Alps. At an altitude of 1,154 meters, the Gauermannhütte not only serves first-class lentils with dumplings and delicious roast pork, but also offers breathtaking panoramic views of Schneeberg, Untersberg and Ötscher.
The easiest way to reach the hut is from Miesenbach - near the former Hotel Börsenhof Hornung (closed) - in approx. 1.5 - 2 hours and from Waidmannsfeld - near Gasthof Michlwirt zur schönen Aussicht - via the Wurzelsteig trail in approx. 2 - 2.5 hours.
