In the middle of Kirchberg am Wechsel, in the Vienna Alps, stands a house named after one of the oldest lime trees in Austria. The 1000-year-old lime tree not only characterizes the village center, but also the attitude to life in the Gasthaus zur 1000-jährigen Linde. For generations, it has been a meeting place for hikers, locals and day-trippers. Viennese schnitzel, fried chicken and much more are served, prepared with ingredients from the region. Historic parlors, a shady garden and a hall for celebrations have once again made the restaurant a reliable place to spend time together since its reopening in 2026.
