The Turkish oak is located in Bad Erlach on the Rosalia circular hiking trail. An oak tree is said to have been planted here in memory of 35 men, women and children murdered during the Turkish siege of 1678. A cross on an iron crescent was also placed on a brick cairn. The old inscription plaque and the cross no longer exist today. The new wooden cross with the inscription plaque is of more recent origin.
