Peace, a wonderfully fragrant green forest, birdsong and lots of valuable information about the local flora await visitors to the nature trail in Wartmannstetten-Unterdanegg, which was newly opened in 2025. Starting from the Posch log cabin inn , the well-signposted trail leads along flat forest paths after an initial incline. Along the trail, 25 boards inform visitors about local trees and wild herbs, provide information about their ingredients and their (former) use in folk medicine.
LUCKY the lucky clover has been accompanying young explorers along the nature trail since 2026. Ten different trees and plants invite the little ones to explore and playfully discover. These plants are marked with LUCKY stickers and small treasure chests containing stamps. Once the stamp card has been filled in, the little explorers become herb detectives with their own ID card.
Sturdy shoes are recommended for walking the circular trail. The circular trail is not suitable for baby carriages and starts and ends at the Blockhausheurigen.
LUCKY stamp cards and herb detective ID cards can be purchased at the Blockhausheurigen Posch (when open) and at the municipality in Wartmannstetten for 2 euros. A fully completed stamp card entitles you to a refund of 1 euro.
A guided tour of the nature trail is offered by qualified herbalist Susanne Höflinger. The tour includes a more detailed description of the plants shown (possible applications, culinary use, history) as well as a comprehensive handout. Appreciation: 25,- Euro.
