In the Payerbach Spa Park, on the banks of the Schwarza River and below the impressive viaduct of the Semmering Railway—a UNESCO World Heritage Site—the photographic explorations of the similarities and contrasts between the Alps and the Arctic will be displayed on approximately 30 large-format panels in 2026/2027.
The Semmering Railway, the world’s first mountain railway, has always been a symbol of journeys into new worlds on the one hand, and of sustainable nature and mountain experiences in the mountainous landscape surrounding the metropolis of Vienna on the other. Through his photographs, EWALD PUTZ offers insights into the natural and cultural landscape of the Höllental Valley, while CHRISTIAN HOFER captures the Arctic world of Spitsbergen.
Right next to the spa gardens, the Alber pastry shop invites you to stop by, and across the street at the Payerbacherhof, you can enjoy a wonderful meal.
Tip: You can combine a visit to the Fotopark with a trip to the Payerbach outdoor pool or a round of mini-golf at the Payerbach mini-golf course.
