The Bread and Mill Museum, located in the historic Dirnbach Mill in Gloggnitz, vividly brings to life the history of the milling and baking trades. Visitors discover how bread is made from grain and can marvel at historic milling technology, old baking utensils, and a traditional wood-fired oven.

Program and Guided Tours:

  • Programs for children: Interactive workshops centered on bread that combine learning and fun.
  • Programs for adults: The history of milling, the development of modern industrial milling, the structure of a grain kernel, and a tour of the bakery featuring authentic equipment used in the past.
  • Bread-baking workshops: Knead the dough yourself using old recipes, take special guided tours of the mill, and then taste the bread you’ve baked yourself.
