Unterberg Schutzhaus

Description

The Schutzhaus (1,190 m), located around 150 meters below the Unterberg summit, is a popular destination for hikers, ski tourers and pilgrims on their way to Mariazell. The adjacent alpine meadows and playground also make the Schutzhaus an ideal destination for families.

From the parking lot at the former inn in Gries in Rohr im Gebirge, it can be reached in around 1.5 or 2 hours, from Muggendorf via the Enziansteig in around 3 hours.

Opening hours: all year round (except 2nd week of November - 7th December), closed on Mondays
