Guests are asked to refrain from making inquiries by phone until the reopening and to contact the Karl Ludwig Haus via habsburghaus@gebirgsverein.at instead.
The Karl-Ludwig-Haus is located at 1,804 meters above sea level on the Rax high plateau in Styria and is easily accessible from the Preiner Gscheid parking lot via the Schlangenweg trail in about two hours.
The location guarantees a sunny spot with a breathtaking panorama—ideal for taking a break and enjoying the view. From the hut, it’s also not far to the Heukuppe (2,007 m), the highest point of the Rax.
The lodge offers numerous lodging options: 24 beds in 2-, 3-, and 4-bed rooms, as well as 21 beds in two dormitories. Dogs are also welcome in the rooms.
