When the hills gradually turn into mountains and the landscape slowly passes by, you really start to appreciate the beauty of a cycle tour. These impressions can be particularly enjoyed from May to October on the "Vom Buckl zum Berg" cycle tour, which leads to places with great views and many an excellent inn. An extra night in the Schneebergland takes us into the Vienna Woods.
We recommend wearing a bike helmet on rides. Wear appropriate clothing and sturdy shoes.
Check the weather forecast in advance, and be sure to bring rain gear and sunscreen. Be sure to bring plenty to drink.
The tour starts at the Alpen-Aktiv country inn “Zur Schubertlinde.” The route runs along the foot of the Hohe Wand through Winzendorf to Weikersdorf, where you turn left and pass through Bad Fischau-Brunn. Following the edges of the forest, the road leads through Markt Piesting to Berndorf and Pottenstein, where the loop then turns back toward home. Continue straight ahead through Pernitz and Miesenbach to Bruck. There, turn left, and you’ll return to Grünbach.
