Anyone out and about here will soon realise: this isn’t just a gym with a view, but proper terrain. The Schneeberg and the Hohe Wand offer both – that quiet focus on the rock and that wonderful, clear feeling when the path gets steeper and the horizon stretches further.
The Hohe Wand is a classic – and you can tell in the best possible way: you’re up on the rock in no time, there’s a wide choice, and depending on what you fancy, it can be a leisurely or a challenging climb. Many routes are also perfectly doable ‘just like that’ – after work, in the morning, or on the spur of the moment at the weekend. And yes: the view is there. Not as a reward, but rather as a constant companion.
Climbing on the Schneeberg means getting away from the hustle and bustle and straight onto the rock. Many routes are classic, whilst some offer a surprising variety. Whether you’re looking for a beginner’s route or a challenge, you’ll find it.

Mountain climbing around the Schneeberg means vast expanses, altitude and that ‘mountain feeling’. The route to the top here is no short detour – it takes longer, you gain a fair bit of altitude and, step by step, you enter a different world. So if you take your time, you’ll be rewarded with truly memorable summit moments.
On the Hohe Wand, the climbs are often steeper but shorter – ideal if you want to gain a fair amount of altitude in a relatively short time.
In both areas, the same rules apply: check the conditions, plan realistically and allow plenty of time for the descent.
