Note: The Jagasitz Inn is closed!
Hiking to the Jagasitz: a nature experience
The starting point of the hike to the Jagasitz is at the parking lot of the Myra Falls, where nature inspires with impressive waterfalls. From there, the trail first leads over bridges and footbridges along the waterfalls to the main path. The trail continues uphill along country lanes and smaller paths via Kreuth to the Jagasitz. At the viewing point, the Vienna Alps Viewer offers a panoramic view of the region and the Schneeberg. Even when the Jagasitz inn is closed, the view is still worthwhile. Adventurous hikers can also continue on to the Steinwandklamm gorge and the Türkenloch.
Refreshments: Gasthaus Myrastubn, famous for its delicious baked or gratinated pancakes.
Your hikes in the Wiener Alpen should be a completely beautiful and safe experience. Please therefore observe the following:
Preparation
Make sure when choosing the route that it matches your experience and fitness. Inform yourself in advance about the weather forecast. The weather can change surprisingly quickly in the mountains. Therefore, always set off properly equipped (e.g., rain protection).
Check whether the huts, guesthouses and snack stations you want to visit along the way are open. Inform someone about your chosen route and planned return before you start.
More safety tips for your hike can be found here.
Always take suitable maps with you. Wear sturdy shoes appropriate for the route, take sun and rain protection as well as water and a snack. Take your mobile phone with you and save the mountain rescue emergency number: 140
Our hike starts at the Myrafälle hiking and water world. We walk over the bridges and paths along the Myrafälle up to the country road. We walk a bit down the right side of this road and then turn left up the path. We reach the road again and turn right uphill. Following this road would also lead to the Jagasitz guesthouse. However, we turn right onto the path to stay on our route. Going straight ahead, we finally reach the Jagasitz guesthouse via a last section of road.
Ample parking available at the Myrafälle hiking and water world.
Coming from Vienna or Graz, drive along the A2 to the Wöllersdorf exit. Follow the B21 to Pernitz. Take the Muggendorf street.
Take the train from Wiener Neustadt to Pernitz and then the bus to Muggendorf.
